DraftKings Salary: $3,500
The Memphis Grizzlies head into tonight's matchup against the Denver Nuggets with a potentially depleted backcourt, as Tyreke Evans is out and Andrew Harrison ($6,300) and Wayne Selden Jr. ($3,900) are both questionable. If Harrison or Selden sit, the other would be an appealing tournament target in an advantageous matchup. If both sit, Mario Chalmers is worth a look as a punt play.
Chalmers' DraftKings points per minute of 0.80 certainly doesn't stick out, but he needs just 17.5 DraftKings points to reach value at this price tag. At 0.80 DraftKings points per minute, he'd need 22 minutes to reach that total (if he produced at his averaged rate), which is very realistic minutes load if Harrison sits.
Chalmers can be a very frustrating player to roster, but we might have to take the medicine if he is starting in a matchup against a Nuggets team that is surrendering the seventh-most DraftKings points per game to opposing point guards. Keep an eye on the injury news.
