DraftKings Salary: $5,300
The Memphis Grizzlies are all kinds of banged up, and the status of their dudes will be one of the main storylines to follow today. The most-impactful statuses to monitor for Jarell Martin are that of Marc Gasol and Deyonta Davis. Both are listed as questionable, and with Memphis in the midst of a 13-game losing streak and a clear tank-job, it would be surprising to see them push anyone to suit up. If both miss tonight's game, it will leave the Grizzlies' frontcourt quite short-handed, which led to 35 minutes for Martin his last time out.
In fact, Martin has been playing big minutes since the All-Star Break, and just recently he's translating those minutes into fantasy goodness. He's averaged 33.2 DraftKings points over his past three games, the most recent of which Gasol did not play in. Gasol's status is make-or-break for Martin as he has averaged an increase of 0.04 DraftKings points per minute without Gasol as well as a 2.8% bump in usage rate. Martin could still play heaps of minutes if Gasol suits up, but his efficiency would likely go down enough to take him out of consideration in a tough matchup against the San Antonio Spurs.
Keep a close eye on the injury news. If Gasol and/or Davis sit, Martin is viable in either format. If Gasol plays, temper your expectations for Martin, who is averaging a pedestrian 0.70 DraftKings points per minute with Gasol on the floor.
