The way Anthony Davis has been producing since DeMarcus Cousins went down has been absolutely crazy, and it is almost unprecedented since the arrival of daily fantasy. Through 17 games without Boogie, Davis is averaging a massive 64.0 FanDuel points per game -- a mark that is 4.0 points higher than Russell Westbrook's year-long average of 60.0 FanDuel in his triple-double MVP season, which is the highest mark since daily fantasy came to be.
AD has topped 70 FanDuel points 6 times in his last 11 games, while nobody else has done that more than five times over the whole season. He's also averaging 37.1 minutes per game sans Cousins, while his 1.73 FanDuel points per minute in his last 11 contests are right in line with the 1.73 he has averaged with Cousins off the court all year.
His price-tag is obviously pretty lofty here, but he's taking on a Charlotte Hornets team that's allowing roughly average fantasy production to power forwards and centers this year. It would take a much worse matchup or much higher price-tag than this to stop Davis from being the day's premier high-priced play.
