DraftKings Salary: $3,900
With both Hassan Whiteside and Dwyane Wade out for the Miami Heat, Wayne Ellington pushed for 30 minutes as part of a shorthanded rotation on Monday. Both players are also set to miss tonight's game, which could mean more big minutes for Ellington.
While Ellington hasn't been overly efficient on a per-minute basis, he has been productive when playing big minutes. He's topped 30 minutes 22 times this season, during which he has maintained a DraftKings average of 25.3 points. That type of production easily exceeds what is needed from him at this price tag (19.5 DraftKings points).
The matchup is ideal for a deep-ball specialist such as Ellington, as the Sacramento Kings have allowed more made three-pointers per game and a higher three-point percentage than any team in the league. They're ranked 29th in defensive efficiency, and the Heat are expected to outscore their season average by five points, even without Whiteside and Wade. Ellington could be a big part of doing so and is extremely affordable. He is an intriguing tournament punt play if trying to fit in some of the studs on today's slate.
