With Hassan Whiteside continuing to battle with injuries, it seems like a strong -- dare we say "safe" -- move to ride James Johnson while he’s seeing an increased workload and playing good ball.
In addition to the 18 points, 10 boards, and 7 assists he posted against the Kings on Wednesday night, Johnson has put together an impressive run as of late, notching at least six-times value in four of his last seven games.
Despite a salary that may tip a bit higher given his assumed bump in minutes, Johnson should stay under or around the $5,000 mark, making him a valuable punt option with upside.
The Heat take on the Lakers tonight, before facing the Nuggets, Knicks, and Thunder next week.
