5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 3/21/18
With Hassan Whiteside set to sit out a sixth straight game, is Bam Adebayo a must-play Wednesday against the Knicks?

Wayne Ellington, SG, Miami Heat

FanDuel Price: $4,200
Projected FanDuel Points: 17.8
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.25

On Wednesday, as the Miami Heat face the New York Knicks, Dwyane Wade will continue to sit with a hamstring strain. The Heat are 2-2 in the four games he's missed, and Wayne Ellington is among the reasons for the two shorthanded wins. After scoring 22 in an overtime loss to the Sacramento Kings, Ellington's scored 4 and 23 points, respectively, in the team's wins over the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets.

Ellington is an up-and-down option because of his fluctuating scoring numbers. Of his 18 FanDuel points per game, 11.3 come via the points column, on 40.3% shooting from the floor and 38.9% from the three-point line. But over the last four games he's upped his production to 15 points and 4 triples per game over 34.3 minutes. So, he has a higher floor yet his price tag allows for the 20-point upside he can bring on any given night.

Overall, the Knicks haven't been the greatest of matchups for opposing shooting guards. Prior to the break, their 98.89 pace was in the bottom of the league, as their defensive rating ranked 18th through 59 games. But, since the break (and the lineup changes that have come with it), the Knicks are operating at a pace of 100.71 possessions per 48 while allowing the most (114.3) points per 100 possessions of any team in the NBA. Accordingly, Vegas has Ellington and the Heat down for 112.25 points tonight.
