Things are about to get very fun for Karl-Anthony Towns in fantasy hoops. Jimmy Butler (traded to Philadelphia, in case you've been off-line all weekend) wasn't a huge usage guy, but his presence did have a significant impact on Towns' numbers.
The sample size isn't big this year, but in 275 minutes with Butler on the court, Towns has a 23.5% usage rate and is averaging 1.10 FanDuel points per minute. In 158 minutes with Butler off, his usage jumps to 28.4% and he averages 1.55 FanDuel points per minute.
We also saw a difference (though less pronounced) last year, as he went from 22.0% usage and 1.28 FanDuel points per minute with Butler on to 25.5% usage and 1.28 FanDuel points per minute with Butler off.
Even if Butler weren't gone, tonight would be a very appealing spot for KAT. He has topped 55 FanDuel points in four of his last seven games (with at least 62 in three of those), and he draws a prime matchup against Brooklyn.
The Nets have been playing at a slow pace this year, but thanks to their 22nd-ranked defensive rating and 21st-ranked rebound rate, they have allowed the third-most fantasy points per 48 minutes to opposing centers.
