We've seen Karl-Anthony Towns put up some strong numbers since the departure of Jimmy Butler, with 53.7 and 49.7 FanDuel points in his last two outings. He seemed to be hitting his stride even with Butler around though, dropping 62.3 FanDuel points in Butler's final game in Minnesota.
Per NBAWowy, Towns had a 23.5% usage rate and averaged 1.10 FanDuel points per minute with Butler on the floor this season, which jumps to a 28.5% usage rate and 1.51 FanDuel points per minute with Butler off.
Going back to include last season, we see increases from 22.2% and 1.20 to 26.2% usage and 1.32 FanDuel points per minute, so that difference holds up over a larger sample as well.
Towns brings that increased production into a plus matchup tonight against Portland. Despite their strong rebounding numbers, the Blazers allow the 11th-most fantasy points per 48 minutes to opposing centers.
