Finding value players in West Coast games can be particularly difficult. Unless there is an obvious pricing discrepancy with recent performance or an injury known well ahead of time, banking on a cheap player with a late tip-off can simply be too risky.
On some nights -- fortunately -- news comes early about injuries. Such is the case tonight with Portland Trail Blazers small forward Maurice Harkless, who has already been ruled out for tonight's game against the Charlotte Hornets.
Evan Turner is almost certain to get the starting nod in place of Harkless, and he's been a good bet to provide solid value when Harkless has been out of the lineup. In the 16 games he's played without Harkless this year, Turner has put up an average of 22.3 FanDuel points, 3.7 more than when Moe plays.
That may not seem like a lot, but it amounts to an equivalent of 0.8 DraftKings points per $1,000 at his current price. Turner could provide even more value if Damian Lillard -- questionable -- doesn't play tonight. If he's out, Turner could see more of the ball-handling duties, upping his assist potential.
