After playing just 21 total minutes in four games since November 30, Omari Spellman was not expected to do much in a spot start for the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday. The rookie surprised us all, though, by playing nearly 30 minutes, sinking 4 threes, and blocking 4 shots for 31.7 FanDuel points in a tough matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks. He earned his shot with Dewayne Dedmon sitting out with an injury.
Dedmon is looking doubtful to play on Tuesday, meaning we are likely going to see another heavy dose of Spellman -- and possibly another start -- against the Oklahoma City Thunder. In his nine starts this season, Spellman is averaging 22.2 FanDuel points per game.
Even if the Hawks decide to insert Alex Len in the starting lineup to battle Steven Adams, Spellman should see extended run off the bench as Len has not played more than 22 minutes in any game over the last two weeks.
With Spellman projected to play more than 22 minutes on Tuesday, per our models, and listed at the minimum, he is by far our top point-per-dollar value option of the day.
