It's being overshadowed by the absolutely staggering numbers James Harden and Anthony Davis have put up lately, but Russell Westbrook's recent fantasy output deserves some attention of its own.
Over the past month, Westbrook has averaged 55.8 FanDuel points per game, a mark that would be good for third in the NBA on the year. He's not the near-lock for 60-plus fantasy points that Davis and Harden are (which is why he's not being priced with them in the $13,000-14,000's), but he's still showing some great, consistent upside. His last seven games have seen him hit at least 59 FanDuel points four times, including performances of 67.7 and 78.6.
That recent production is highly encouraging, but what really makes him a can't-miss play tonight is the dreamy matchup he gets against the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Pels play at the league's 6th-fastest pace while ranking only 25th in defensive rating. They also allow the league's sixth-most points, sixth-most assists and sixth-most steals per game to opponents. The matchup gets even better with the Brow on the shelf as their defensive rating falls by 4.9 points in minutes with Davis off the floor compared to when he's on.
