DraftKings Price: $3,700
Sticking with the Knicks, teammate Damyean Dotson is an even more likely candidate to see elevated minutes. According to Basketball Reference, the second-year player has played 86% of his minutes at small forward, but he's also spent some time at shooting guard, which is where the Knicks will be hurting most for bodies tonight. After all, New York's only healthy point guard -- Kadeem Allen -- is on a two-way contract and has played a total of 36 minutes to date.
Now, Allen could start at the point, but I wouldn't put it past David Fizdale to start Allonzo Trier at the one, as the versatile guard has played 14% of his minutes at point guard. That would open up a big opportunity for Dotson at his side.
Dotson averages 24.8 minutes a game and hasn't played more than 26 minutes dating back to January 13. He averages a mediocre 0.72 DK points per minute, but that bumps up to 0.76 without the combination of Lee, THJ and Burke, and when you throw in Kanter that's up to 0.85 in a nice 244-minute sample. His usage is low, but he's shown that he doesn't need a ton of looks to turn in value.
You're not asking for much here anyway. At this price, 18.5 DK points is enough for five-times value, so at a rate of 0.85 DK points a minute all he would need to see is 22 minutes or so. Our models have him down for 27.0 minutes and 19.4 points on the night.
