DraftKings Price: $4,000
The San Antonio Spurs are 1-10 in their last 11 meetings against the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena, including playoff contests. Head coach Gregg Popovich is obviously aware of this and knows his team is almost certainly going to be outclassed. Coupled with an embarrassing 15-point road loss to the Sacramento Kings on Monday night, he's decided to give in and rest his two best players tonight, making the tally in the loss column a near certainty.
Of course, the absence of both LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan (and the continued absence of Derrick White) opens up nearly 68 minutes of playing time for others, which, for us daily fantasy players, opens up a ton of potential value. One player very likely to benefit from DeRozan's absence is Marco Belinelli.
Belinelli, the fifth-leading scorer on the Spurs at 11.0 points per game, has not yet started a game this season. In fact, he has just two combined starts since the start of the 2016-17 season. Even if he once again fails to enter the starting five tonight, it's hard to imagine a scenario where he doesn't flirt with 30-plus minutes, a threshold he's only crossed once this season.
Belinelli's outside shooting has been stellar this season. His 39.1% mark is his best mark since the 2013-14 season and the 30th best mark in the league this season. While his shooting won't be enough to keep the Spurs in the game, it should be enough to help him provide solid value on DraftKings.
We project Belinelli to score 0.81 DraftKings points per minute tonight. If he's able to hit 30 minutes that would mean a return of roughly 24.3 DraftKings points, a solid outcome for a $4,000 player.
