DraftKings Price: $3,200
Another Grizzlies player who could benefit from all of the injuries and potential roster moves today is rookie Julian Washburn. Washburn has only been with Memphis since January 15, when the team signed him to a two-way contract. He certainly landed in the right place to get playing time.
Washburn, who played just four minutes combined in his first nine games with the team, has seen 16, 20, and 31 minutes of run in his past three games, respectively. The 31 minutes, which happened Tuesday against the Timberwolves, were a result of Washburn's first career start.
He finished with just 17.5 DraftKings points in that game, but that was enough to return nearly six-times value at his minimum $3,000 salary. He has seen a slight bump to $3,200 tonight, but he could also see even more run this evening. The Grizz are 13.5-point dogs in an away game against the Thunder, making it a very plausible scenario that Washburn is on the court against Thunder backups all fourth quarter (unless Russ needs an extra rebound to secure his eighth triple-double in a row, of course).
Washburn is no doubt a risky play tonight, but if he's given the start as expected, he's worth taking a shot on in tournaments given his minuscule price tag.
