DraftKings Price: $8,000
It's almost as if DraftKings' pricing algorithms can't believe what New Orleans Pelicans point guard Elfrid Payton has been doing over his past five games. Sure, Payton's salary has risen from $5,800 to $8,000 in the span of eight days, but even that price is low considering what the former Ragin' Cajun star has been doing.
Payton has strung together five triple-double's in a row. To put that in perspective, only Westbrook, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, and Oscar Robertson have ever accomplished the same feat. That's led to five straight games of at least 51.0 DraftKings points, and our models expect another solid outing for him again tonight.
While a sixth trip-dub may be asking for too much, it wouldn't be hard to fathom in a game that has a relatively strong total of 224.0 points for tonight. Plus, he'll have a ton of extra motivation tonight as the team takes on the Orlando Magic, with whom Payton spend his first three-plus years in the league. In his one matchup against them while with the Phoenix Suns, Payton put up 39.75 DraftKings points.
We have him bettering that here, though falling short of his recent stellar play. Our models project Payton to finish with 46.4 DraftKings points tonight.
