DraftKings Price: $3,800
OK, we've been on this roller coaster before. We've been told that Anthony Davis is out for tonight's contest against the Orlando Magic. While we've been had before by Alvin Gentry and seen Davis actually take the court, this one is legit, folks. The New Orleans Pelicans have stated unequivocally that he is out for tonight due to a personal matter. We of course hope all is well for AD and his family.
His absence naturally means that one or more players on the team stand to soak up more minutes, and the player who has benefited often from his absence is Cheick Diallo.
You may be thrown off from New Orleans' recent game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Davis missed that game, and Diallo saw only 15 minutes of run and 13.25 DraftKings points in a 122-110 loss. That was an outlier.
Diallo had seen at least 19 minutes of run in his previous six games without AD, compiling a minimum of 31.0 DraftKings points in each game. Furthermore, he saw 25 and 27 minutes in his past two games, respectively, both games that Davis was playing in. He came through with 30.0 and 20.5 DraftKings points in those two contests, though his salary has dropped $100 to $3,800 for tonight's game.
Take advantage of his low salary here. Our models have him returning solid value by scoring 31.4 DraftKings points in 26.6 minutes of run.
