DraftKings Price: $3,200
After playing 62 games (starting six) for the Memphis Grizzlies last year, center Deyonta Davis has been in basketball purgatory for most of the 2018-19 season. Davis spent most of the year playing in the G-League, but the Atlanta Hawks signed him to a 10-day contract on March 19 to help fill-in for a rapidly depleting frontcourt.
Davis got a second 10-day contract a few days ago, and after Dewayne Dedmon went down for the season, he's seen 22 and 20 minutes of run in his past two games. That could jump even further this evening as Alex Len is questionable with a foot injury. If he's ruled out, Davis could actually find his way into the starting lineup when the team takes on the Philadelphia 76ers tonight.
Starter or not, Davis has been efficient in his increased role over the past two games, finishing with 19.0 and 24.0 DraftKings points, respectively. His salary has bumped just $200 to $3,200 this evening, making him a very intriguing punt option.
We currently have Davis projected for 19.9 DraftKings points and a value of just over 6.2 points per $1,000. If he gets the starting nod, expect that number to rise.
