The Boston Celtics added some much-needed help to their front court by acquiring veteran David Lee. According to RealGM, Lee joins the 4th youngest team in the league and finds himself in a leadership role ready to rejuvenate his double-double reputation.
Due to last year’s emergence of Draymond Green, Lee’s productivity took a dramatic dip while with the Golden State Warriors. However, it is important to note that Lee’s stats suffered only because he was rarely seen off the bench. On a per-36 minutes equivalent for last season, Lee still managed to average 15.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. Tack on his occasional steal and block and you have a vintage David Lee.
Being back in his usual role as a starter could not only boost Lee’s morale but also his presence in the box score. Look for Lee to bounce back this year while donning Celtic green.
