Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury Report: Wednesday 11/16/16
What are some of the injuries you need to monitor for NBA DFS, and where can we find value relative to these injuries?

Welcome to the numberFire Wednesday NBA Injury Encyclopedia! With 11 games lining the slate tonight, there are tons of meaningful injuries with a healthy mixture of guys who we know will be out, versus others who might come down to game time decisions.

Notable Injuries

John Wall and Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards need all the help they can get, and at least John Wall will be active tonight. However, Bradley Beal will not be playing. Wall and Marcin Gortat will have to pick up the slack on offense while Marcus Thornton and Tomas Satoransky will see their minutes go up as a result of Beal sitting.

Joel Embiid, Philadelphia 76ers

Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers are on the front half of a back-to-back set, but for the first time this season,The Process will sit out a home game. The Sixers have had somewhat of a center-by-committee in the games that Embiid has been out, so it doesn't help much for fantasy purposes. However, Jahlil Okafor, Ersan Ilyasova and Richaun Holmes are the ones who should see the biggest boost with Embiid resting.

Dwight Howard, Atlanta Hawks

Dwight Howard is off to a strong start this season, but the big man injured his quad last night. There has been very little news from the Atlanta Hawks about his injury, but if he is forced to sit, Mike Muscala might be the best value play on the board while Kris Humphries should see a boost in minutes in a thinning Atlanta frontcourt.

Andre Drummond, Detroit Pistons

Andre Drummond sat out Monday night with a sprained ankle, and the big man is officially a game-time decision tonight. However, Stan Van Gundy thinks he will play after the big man made it through shootaround this morning with no issues. If Drummond does start, Aron Baynes will be sent back to the bench.

Dirk Nowitzki and Deron Williams, Dallas Mavericks

Deron Williams has already said that he plans to play on Wednesday, but his teammate Dirk Nowitzki is going to once again come down to a game-time decision. The Dallas Mavericks are going to be cautious with Nowitzki, so if he has any soreness at all tonight, he might sit out again. Dorian Finney-Smith started for Dirk against the New York Knicks in the Mavs' last game, so it looks like he, Harrison Barnes and Dwight Powell get the biggest boost. However, Barnes -- who is having a good year -- is likely the only fantasy option of that group.

Al Horford, Boston Celtics

Al Horford has missed seven games after suffering a concussion, but he went through a full practice on Tuesday, which means he looks to be close to ready to go tonight. The ultimate decision will come down to how he feels after warming up and what the team doctors and trainers think, but it looks like the Boston Celtics might be getting back their high-priced big man in the near future. This will take some usage away from Avery Bradley and Isaiah Thomas, and it will eliminate Tyler Zeller and probably Kelly Olynyk as value plays.

Lesser Injuries

Tyson Chandler, Phoenix Suns

Tyson Chandler missed four games after the loss of his mother to cancer, but he practiced with the team Tuesday, which indicates he might be ready to return to the court on Wednesday. This should send Alex Len back to the bench.

Wilson Chandler, Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets' injury report is as long as any team coming into tonight, but a bit of good news is that Wilson Chandler is listed as probable. Despite dealing with a hamstring injury, Denver is going to need all the minutes that Chandler can handle as they are really thin on the wing.

Danny Green, San Antonio Spurs

Danny Green has yet another soft tissue injury, leaving him questionable for tonight. If Green is out, expect Kyle Anderson and Jonathon Simmons to pick up the slack. Dewayne Dedmon is out tonight, as well, which could open up more minutes for Pau Gasol, LaMarcus Aldridge and David Lee.

Patrick Beverley, Houston Rockets

Patrick Beverley is set to make his return tonight for the Houston Rockets and while he will be in the starting lineup, we don't know how many minutes he will play. Until he is up around 30, he is not a great DFS option. His return should take a bite out of Eric Gordon's minutes.

DeMarre Carroll, Toronto Raptors

DeMarre Carroll did not play last night even though he was available, and it's unknown at this point how the Toronto Raptors plan to use him tonight against the Golden State Warriors. If he is out there, expect Norman Powell's value to take a little hit, but Powell should still see solid minutes.
