Even with nine games on the NBA DFS slate, there aren't a lot of injuries. There will undoubtedly be something that crops up late before rosters lock, but for now, these are the biggest injuries you need to take into account, or watch out for as the afternoon turns into evening.
Notable Injuries
Atlanta Hawks
Paul Millsap is listed as questionable against the Detroit Pistons, while teammate Mike Scott is probable. Scott only played four minutes this season though, so if Millsap sits again, Mike Muscala might draw another start and be a fine DFS punt value.
Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets are pretty banged up but they will get back Will Barton after a long layoff. He might not play his full allotment of minutes, but his return is welcome. A bigger injury might be Nikola Jokic, who looks like he could come down to a game-time decision.
Darrell Arthur appears to be back tonight, so that will help if Jokic sits. However, expect Kenneth Faried and Jusuf Nurkic to see some more playing time in this particular situation.
New York Knicks
Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee and Lance Thomas are all listed as questionable for Friday night and their absences could create a ton of value in the New York Knicks' rotation. Kyle O'Quinn and Guillermo Hernangomez will get run if Noah is out again. Lee seems to be trending more towards doubtful, so look for Brandon Jennings and Justin Holiday to get a bump.
Markieff Morris, Washington Wizards
Markieff Morris got some treatment on his troublesome ankle on Thursday and right now he looks questionable for Friday night. If he doesn't play, Jason Smith becomes a value target, while Otto Porter is also worth considering because he could see some power forward minutes.
J.R. Smith, Cleveland Cavaliers
J.R. Smith has been battling a sore knee and it has led to a pretty bad slump for the veteran. He has not been shooting the ball well, so don't be surprised if the Cleveland Cavaliers hold him out Friday.
Lesser Injuries
Jerryd Bayless, Philadelphia 76ers
Jerryd Bayless will be out again after a plasma injection. He might be getting close, but Sergio Rodriguez will start for him Friday.
DeMarre Carroll, Toronto Raptors
DeMarre Carroll is either out tonight or tomorrow night due to rest on a back-to-back, so expect to see Norman Powell more if that ends up being tonight.
Doug McDermott, Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls are hoping to get Doug McDermott back soon, but the swingman will miss Friday and Saturday's game while dealing with a concussion. Expect more Isaiah Canaan and Nikola Mirotic for Chicago over the next two games.
Mike Dunleavy, Cleveland Cavaliers
Mike Dunleavy is also in the league's concussion protocol and he is doubtful for Friday night. If he and Smith are on the sideline for Cleveland, Iman Shumpert might be a very popular DFS option.
