5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 12/8/16

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on Monday.

Tim Frazier, PG, New Orleans Pelicans

FanDuel Price: $4,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 17.1
Projected FanDuel Value: 3.5

Tim Frazier may take on a larger role tonight with Jrue Holiday being a game-time call due to a toe injury. When logging 30-plus minutes, Frazier is averaging 12.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 8.6 assists per game. He's been in a somewhat of a scoring drought, not reaching double figures in his last five games, but it's likely that streak will be snapped if Holiday sits.

In addition to the possibility of some extended run, Frazier has a superb matchup. The New Orleans Pelicans take on the Philadelphia 76ers, who offer the third-best matchup to opposing point guards among teams playing tonight.

Tony Allen, SG, Memphis Grizzlies

FanDuel Price: $4,800
Projected FanDuel Points: 20.9
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.35

Tony Allen should be reported because he's been a thief this holiday season, averaging 2.5 steals per game in the month of December. Furthermore, with injuries aplenty in the rotation, Allen has picked up his scoring and rebounding with averages of 11.0 points and 7.0 rebounds over his last seven games.

The Memphis Grizzlies host the Portland Trail Blazers, who are ranked last in defensive efficiency.

Terrence Ross, SF, Toronto Raptors

FanDuel Price: $3,700
Projected FanDuel Points: 16.8
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.55

Terrence Ross has been playing like a boss. He's averaging career highs in points (19.0) and three-pointers made (3.2) in per-36 minutes this season. He's been ripping the net lately, hitting 56.3 percent of his three-pointers in three games this month. Ross doesn't do much else other than score -- so he's a little dangerous as a cash-game option -- but he is coming off an uncharacteristic 4-block game.

The Toronto Raptors play the Minnesota Timberwolves in a game with a 9-point spread, which could equate to a boost in playing time for Ross if Toronto wins comfortably.

Boris Diaw, PF, Utah Jazz

FanDuel Price: $3,700
Projected FanDuel Points: 15.9
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.29

Boris Diaw figures to see an uptick in performance tonight with there being a plethora of injuries hampering the Utah Jazz roster. Diaw has done a decent all-around job over his past three games, averaging 9.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 27.4 minutes per game during that span.

The Utah Jazz battle the Golden State Warriors, who are playing the second game of a back-to-back -- their third game in four nights -- and offer the third-best matchup to opposing power forwards among teams playing tonight.

Dewayne Dedmon, C, San Antonio Spurs

FanDuel Price: $3,600
Projected FanDuel Points: 15.1
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.2

Dewayne Dedmon has really stepped up in a limited role since coming back from a six-game absence. Over his past five games, Dedmon is averaging 5.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in just under 18 minutes per contest.

The San Antonio Spurs visit the Chicago Bulls in what is a nice matchup for the Spurs' bigs. Chicago is the second-best matchup for centers on tonight's slate.
