NBA
Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury Report: Wednesday 2/1/17
After returning over the weekend, DeMar DeRozan will be sitting out for the second straight game on Wednesday. Which other injury situations should you monitor for tonight's DFS slate?

For the first day of February, the NBA scheduling committee has blessed us with a 12-game slate. The quad boxes on League Pass are going to be heavily utilized tonight.

With that comes a ton of injury news. Here's what you need to keep track of before rosters lock.

Notable Injuries

Denver Nuggets

Nikola Jokic will not play Wednesday, and after being a late scratch on Wednesday, Will Barton is doubtful. Emmanuel Mudiay is questionable, as well.

Assuming Barton misses again, Wilson Chandler, Gary Harris and Jamal Murray all get a bump. Kenneth Faried and Danilo Gallinari get the biggest bump when Jokic doesn't play and if Mudiay is able to get on the floor, Jameer Nelson will likely head back to the bench.

New York Knicks

Derrick Rose did not play last night and is doubtful to play on Wednesday, while Kristaps Porzingis was scratched last night due to illness. We haven't heard any updates on Porzingis' status for this evening, but Guillermo Hernangomez had a huge double-double on Tuesday as the starter and could be in line for another one.

Philadelphia 76ers

Joel Embiid and Robert Covington will both be out tonight for the Philadelphia 76ers, while Gerald Henderson is probable. Jahlil Okafor will draw the start in place of Embiid, while Nerlens Noel will come off the bench and likely be heavily involved.

Golden State Warriors

Stephen Curry went through a full practice on Tuesday and he will play for the Golden State Warriors tonight. The Warriors are 15-point favorites against a Charlotte Hornets team coming off getting blown out on Tuesday in Portland, so there is still a chance Curry and the Dubs starters won't see the fourth quarter.

Zaza Pachulia is also out for the next week, which could force the Warriors to turn the starting center job into a committee. JaVale McGee is the most intriguing, but Kevon Looney could also earn some starts. Draymond Green will also be playing more center in their small lineup.

Dallas Mavericks

Deron Williams is questionable tonight, while Andrew Bogut has already been ruled out. Dirk Nowitzki has been playing center without Bogut, so if Williams misses again, look for Seth Curry to be the best value option.

Kevin Love, Cleveland Cavaliers

Kevin Love looks to be day-to-day with his back injury, but he will sit out Wednesday. Richard Jefferson started on Monday without Love, but Channing Frye will start tonight for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

DeMar DeRozan, Toronto Raptors

It's never a good idea to rush an ankle sprain if it's severe and DeMar DeRozan is the latest to learn that. He played on Sunday, but after experiencing some swelling, he missed last night and has been ruled out tonight. Norman Powell was once again a value machine last night and Kyle Lowry almost played the entire game. Expect those two to step up again.

Avery Bradley, Boston Celtics

Avery Bradley is out once again on Wednesday, marking his eighth straight game missed. Look for Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart to eat up most of Bradley's minutes, but the real boost goes to Isaiah Thomas.

Derrick Favors, Utah Jazz

Derrick Favors is getting the night off to rest for the Utah Jazz, so Rudy Gobert automatically gets a big bump. Expect Boris Diaw and Trey Lyles to split up Favors' minutes.

Jon Leuer, Detroit Pistons

Jon Leuer got elbowed in the head and needed stitches last night, but there has been no word about his status as of yet.

Thabo Sefolosha, Atlanta Hawks

Thabo Sefolosha is a game-time decision on Wednesday. If he can't go, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Kent Bazemore could see expanded roles.

James Johnson, Miami Heat

James Johnson practiced with the Miami Heat on Tuesday and is probable to play. However, his teammate Luke Babbitt didn't practice, so Johnson could see some more run at power forward if Babbitt is out.

Taj Gibson, Chicago Bulls

Taj Gibson missed Sunday's game for the Chicago Bulls, but he is ready to play. Robin Lopez and Nikola Mirotic take the biggest hit with GIbson back in the starting lineup.

Lesser Injuries

New Orleans Pelicans

Dante Cunningham is questionable tonight, which is borderline notable if Terrence Jones or Donatas Motiejunas get the start. Both are in play if Cunningham is out, as is Solomon Hill, who will see more playing time thanks to Tyreke Evans also being out for Wednesday.

Cody Zeller, Charlotte Hornets

Cody Zeller is still questionable to play on Wednesday.

Rodney Stuckey, Indiana Pacers

Rodney Stuckey said earlier in the week that he was hopeful he could return for Wednesday's game. Nothing is official just yet, so his status is worth tracking.

Joe Harris, Brooklyn Nets

Joe Harris has missed the Brooklyn Nets' last six games, but with the way Caris LeVert has been playing, it's tough to see Harris regaining most of his minutes.

Dragan Bender, Phoenix Suns

Dragan Bender was out on Monday for the Phoenix Suns and there has been no word on his status for tonight. He doesn't play much, but if he misses again, Marquese Chriss sees a slight bump.
