3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 2/28/17
Steven Adams has a tough matchup against the Utah Jazz tonight that's worth fading. Who else should you avoid in NBA DFS contests on Tuesday?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it only takes one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.

Steven Adams, C, Oklahoma City Thunder

FanDuel Price: $5,900

Steven Adams is usually the guy beating up on opposing centers and their fantasy value. However, Adams may get a dose of his own medicine against Rudy Gobert and the Utah Jazz.

Gobert has dominated Adams in their previous matchups and the Jazz as a team are holding opposing centers to just 0.89 FanDuel points per minute. On top of that, the Stifle Tower is limiting players to just 42.4% shooting, including 48.3% shooting within six feet of the rim.

With Enes Kanter facing off against his old team, there is a possibility he gets a few extra minutes tonight, which could potentially take a few away from Adams. When you combine that with an already poor matchup, it'll be best to avoid Adams tonight.

Otto Porter, SF, Washington Wizards

FanDuel Price: $6,200

Otto Porter is having a career season, but has a tough matchup on both ends of the court against Kevin Durant tonight.

Durant is obviously a tough cover for Porter, but his defense has also been solid this year. The Golden State Warriors are holding opposing small forwards to just 0.71 FanDuel points per minute and Durant's defense has been a big reason why.

He's held opposing players to just 40.8% shooting from the floor, which includes just 30.3% from three-point land. So, this could be a rough night for Porter on offense, and he still needs to figure out how to defend Durant himself, and that won't be easy for the Washington Wizards swingman.

Alex Len, C, Phoenix Suns

FanDuel Price: $4,800

The Phoenix Suns have started giving their young players more minutes, and Tyson Chandler has basically been given the rest of the year off.

That means Alex Len should get some more opportunity, but it's been Alan Williams who has taken the spotlight so far -- the undrafted center was a beast in his last game with 17 points and 15 rebounds in 34 minutes.

If that happens again on Tuesday, Len is a huge landmine. He's been with the Suns for four seasons, so the organization basically knows what they have in him as a player. With the upside Williams has flashed in his brief time on the court, it's worthwhile for Phoenix to feed him more minutes.

That could cost Len some playing time, like it did two nights ago.
