If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's slate.
Best of the Best
Giannis Antetokounmpo (FanDuel Price: $12,400) - Giannis has been shuffled to small forward on FanDuel, and the price keeps climbing (he was $10,200 to start the season). He has produced at least 60.8 FanDuel points in every game so far and draws a matchup with the Boston Celtics tonight. Know that Boston is third in defensive rating when eradicating garbage production, but Giannis just does too much to worry about that on such a short slate.
Blake Griffin ($9,500) - Griffin has commanded a 30.3% usage rate to start the season and has produced at least 42.8 FanDuel points in three games, even against the Utah Jazz for one contest. The Portland Trail Blazers are actually second in defensive rating when eliminating garbage production, and the Clippers are first. This game should be a tight one, though, with just a 2.5-point spread and a 211.5-point total, highest of the slate. Griffin's floor makes him hard to pass up in cash games.
