3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 1/16/18
Jrue Holiday is coming off a huge game but has a tough matchup against the Boston Celtics that's best to avoid. Which other NBA players should you keep off your DFS rosters Tuesday?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it takes only one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference between winning and losing your contests. Which players should we avoid tonight?

Jrue Holiday, SG, New Orleans Pelicans

FanDuel Price: $7,500

Jrue Holiday is coming off a huge game in overtime against the New York Knicks, but he has a much tougher assignment on both ends of the floor on Tuesday against the Boston Celtics.

The Celtics have been very good against opposing shooting guards, holding them to 0.73 FanDuel points per minute this season, which ranks first on our DvP Matchup Chart. A big reason for that has been the defense of Jaylen Brown, who is holding players he defends to just 37.7% shooting.

Wesley Matthews, SG, Dallas Mavericks

FanDuel Price: $5,200

Wesley Matthews usually plays a ton of minutes, which helps his fantasy value on nights where he has his shot going. The Dallas Mavericks' veteran is shooting well in the month of January, which includes an average of 16.2 points per game over his last six contests.

However, that consistency could be in danger Tuesday against the Denver Nuggets. They're holding shooting guards to 0.77 FanDuel points per minute, and Gary Harris has done his part on this area of the floor, holding players he defends to 41.9% shooting.

Tyler Ulis, PG, Phoenix Suns

FanDuel Price: $4,200

Tyler Ulis had been playing minutes in the low to mid-30's before Sunday night's game against the Indiana Pacers, but with the return of Isaiah Canaan in that game, Ulis dropped down to 24 minutes in what ended up being a blowout loss.

With Canaan healthy and Troy Daniels also getting minutes, there is a logjam at point guard for the Phoenix Suns. On top of that, the Portland Trail Blazers have been pretty good against the position this season, holding them to an average of 0.84 FanDuel points per minute.
