If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.
Best of the Best
Anthony Davis ($12,800): Brow has eclipsed the 60-FanDuel-point mark in 6 of his 11 games this season. That's good for 54.5% of the time, while the next-best mark in the NBA is only 37.5%, and after that it drops to 28.6%. Only two players have hit that mark even half as often as Anthony Davis. He also did it in 42.4% of his games without DeMarcus Cousins last year, and at this point we have a pretty significant sample that says Davis is far more likely to top 60 FanDuel points than anyone else in the NBA. He's also got a ridiculous ceiling -- of the nine 80-plus FanDuel scores that have been recorded since January 1, Davis has accounted for five. As I've said before this year, on most slates it's more about whether you can find a reason to not play Davis, and with the New York Knicks allowing the 10th-most points, 11th-most rebounds and 3rd-most blocks per game this season, Davis is a top play in all formats.
