If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.
Best of the Best
Anthony Davis ($12,500): if you've been waiting for Davis' production to come back down to earth, you may not have been paying enough attention last year. His 60.4 FanDuel points per game are the most in the league by a big margin this year, and while 15 games isn't a huge sample, we also have a 33-game sample of games without DeMarcus Cousins last year, in which Davis averaged 60.8 per game. Davis has more games with over 70 FanDuel points (4) than he does with fewer than 50 (3), and he has at least 60 in 9 of his 15 contests. That kind of a floor is unparalleled, and we also know his ceiling is hard to beat, too. Of the 10 80-plus FanDuel point games we've seen since January 1, 5 of them belong to Davis, while no other player has more than 1. Tonight he brings that production into a matchup with the New York Knicks, who allow their opponents top-10 marks in all of points, rebounds, assists and blocks per game, making him tough to fade in any format.
