If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.
Best of the Best
James Harden ($12,400): Sure, it was an overtime game, but Harden is coming off of his third game with at least 85 FanDuel points since February 28. He's only fallen below 54 FanDuel points three times in that 11-game stretch, and he's averaging better than 60 in 37.3 minutes per game. It's no surprise to see him posting massive fantasy numbers, either, as his 26.0 field goal attempts per game since the All-Star break are 3.3 more than any other player. The San Antonio Spurs don't make for a great matchup, though the Houston Rockets have leaned on Harden for at least 38 minutes and 27 field goal attempts in two of their three meetings with the Spurs this year, so volume could help make up for some efficiency concerns. This slate just doesn't have many good fantasy matchups, either, making this spot less of a concern. Houston's 113.5-point implied total is second-best on the slate.
