3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 8/13/20
We should have plenty of value choices on Thursday. Which low-cost options will be the best plays?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Wesley Iwundu, SG, Orlando Magic ($4,000)

The Orlando Magic are just trying to board the bus back down I-4 in one piece, which is why key players Evan Fournier, Aaron Gordon, and Terrence Ross will miss their regular season finale. That frees up plenty of usage and minutes, and while Nikola Vucevic and Markelle Fultz primed to still see the floor, they were pulled early on Tuesday and limited to 21 and 22 minutes, respectively.

Wesley Iwundu should be in line to start once again for the Magic in place of Jonathan Isaac. Steve Clifford and the Magic showed willingness to play the young wing a lot of minutes as he saw 30 and led Orlando in scoring with 18 points on Tuesday. With the New Orleans Pelicans and their fourth-highest pace in the NBA on tap, minutes in this game should produce fantasy points, making Iwundu an appealing value.

E'Twaun Moore, SF, New Orleans Pelicans ($3,800)

On the other side of that Magic-Pelicans game, New Orleans is also resting its top horses now that they are eliminated from the playoffs, as well. Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, and Jrue Holiday will sit once again, which totally shuffled the usage and production for the Pels on Thursday. Josh Hart played more minutes than anyone on Tuesday, and while I would love to fire him up here again, he is questionable with a knee ailment, and I cannot see the Pelicans risking a rotation player in a game that means absolutely nothing.

That should put Lonzo Ball, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and E'Twaun Moore in line for the most minutes and usage in New Orleans' backcourt.

Position on FanDuel matters toward which of these players to target, as playing Ball or Alexander-Walker would limit us from taking both Damian Lillard and Ja Morant at point guard -- both of whom are studs in line for full minutes with great matchups. Moore is listed as a small forward, but he has still seen a 21.2% usage rate without Ingram, Holiday and Zion on the floor in Orlando, which makes him the top priority.

Frank Mason III, PG, Milwaukee Bucks ($3,500)

If you wanted to opt for Devin Booker instead of both Lillard and Morant, then value at point guard could be useful. The Milwaukee Bucks have a totally meaningless contest for them against Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies -- even more so with Giannis Antetokounmpo suspended for a headbutt. Donte DiVincenzo missed Tuesday's contest against the Washington Wizards, so it is possible the Bucks take absolutely no chances with rotation players in their regular season finale, as they have already clinched the one-seed in the Eastern Conference.

Sterling Brown is an option at shooting guard, but Frank Mason had a great, well-rounded game on Tuesday versus Washington. In only 21 minutes, he poured in 19 points to go with 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Mason putting up those type of numbers -- combined with his decent stretch in 2018 for the Sacramento Kings -- may mean the Bucks take a closer look at Mason on Thursday.

If Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe are active, however, there is a chance Mason III is eliminated from the rotation entirely, so make sure to keep an eye on numberFire's player news page to see which players are active and starting for Milwaukee before tip at 4 p.m. EST.
