One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.
Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.
James Wiseman, C, Golden State ($4,400)
If you are looking for value at center tonight, look no further than James Wiseman.
While the Golden State Warriors' rookie has been a bit inconsistent to start the season, his salary remains low, and he is worth considering tonight. Wiseman is up against the New York Knicks, who are allowing 55.83 FanDuel points per game to opposing centers, which is the 10th most in the league. This should be very beneficial for Wiseman as he is producing 1.19 FanDuel points per minute when on the court with the Warriors' starters.
Although this game has a total set at just 215.5, Wiseman shouldn't have an issue putting up solid production in order to reach value. In fact, Wiseman is projected as the best overall value play, per our model, which has him set to go for 24.09 minutes and 26.2 FanDuel points. With high-tier options at point guard, small forward, and power forward, taking some savings at center tonight looks like the way to go.
Bojan Bogdanovic, SF, Utah Jazz ($5,000)
The Utah Jazz are shooting a ton of three-pointers this season, and you want to grab a piece of that scoring upside.
The Jazz lead the league with 16.5 made three-pointers per game. That level of scoring is always great to see in DFS since it can provide a nice ceiling of points for their players. One of those players is Bojan Bogdanovic, who comes in attempting 6.6 three-pointers per game while taking a total of 11.9 field goal attempts per night. More than half of his shots are from deep, and that can lead to him breaking value in a hurry if he is able to knock them down. That shouldn't be an issue since Bogdanovic has a career 39.3% three-point percentage.
The three-point prowess of the Jazz should be on full display tonight since they are up against the New Orleans Pelicans, who are allowing 16.2 made three-pointers to opponents this season, which is the most in the NBA. The polar opposites going up against each other should spell plenty of fantasy production for Bogdanovic.
Donte DiVincenzo, SG, Milwaukee Bucks ($4,400)
With the Los Angeles Lakers-Milwaukee Bucks holding a slate-high over/under of 228.5 points, you definitely need exposure to this game.
There's no doubt that this should be the chalkiest game on the slate as the over/under is 12 points higher than any other game's. The masses will be flocking to this game. However, with expensive options on both teams, you made need to find some value in order to get exposure to the top players this game. That is where Donte DiVincenzo comes into the fold with his $4,400 salary and starting role.
DiVincenzo is carrying only a 14.1% usage rate right now, and that should be expected when you are on the court with Giannis Antetokounmpo. But DiVincenzo is making the most of it by producing 0.85 FanDuel points per minute. That is reflected in his projections as we have him going for 28.08 minutes and 23.2 FanDuel points. That ranks DiVincenzo the best value play among small forwards tonight.
