Wednesday's NBA slate is getting a little extra love thanks to Mountain Dew and FanDuel. The 3/3 slate -- Super Trey Day -- offers FanDuel users More Ways to Win.
At FanDuel Sportsbook, you can place a $25-plus pre-live bet on the first basket scorer on any 3/3 NBA game, and you'll receive a $3 bonus in site credit for every three-pointer that your selected player makes (maximum of $25) -- whether your first basket bet wins or not. You can read more on the details at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Also, be on the lookout for additional three-point odds boosts on select players and teams for the 3/3/21 slate.
But wait. There's more.
On FanDuel, you can join the $600K Mountain Dew NBA Clutch Shot for just $3.33. The contest comes with an additional opportunity to win a share of a $33K three-point bonus if all of your players make a three-pointer.
There's also the free-to-play NBA 3-Point Challenge contest in which your three-player lineup will get rewarded for (you guessed it) every three-pointer they splash for an opportunity to win a share of the $3,333 cash prize.
Which teams allow the most three-point attempts? Which players take and make the most threes? And who makes the most threes when accounting for FanDuel salary? Let's check it all out.
Best Three-Point Matchups
Why not get this out of the way first?
You can give preference to home teams. NBA teams have made 37.2% of threes at home and 36.4% of threes when on the road. It's a slight gap, but it's relevant when every three counts.
Now, let's look at the teams who allow the highest rate and most three-pointers on the slate. (The reason to look for this rather than three-point field goal percentage is because teams can defend the arc by not allowing three-pointers but don't have much control over whether opponents make the threes against them.)
The table is sorted by the offenses who face the defenses with the highest three-point attempt rate allowed (the percentage of field goal attempts faced that come from beyond the arc).
Offense | Defense | Home/ Away | Opponent 3PT Attempt Rate Allowed | Opponent 3PT Attempts/Game Allowed |
---|---|---|---|---|
Minnesota | Charlotte | H | 45.9% | 15.4 |
Chicago | New Orleans | A | 45.5% | 15.8 |

Oklahoma City | Dallas | A | 41.7% | 13.6 |
Atlanta | Orlando | A | 41.1% | 13.5 |

Golden State | Portland | A | 39.8% | 12.9 |

Utah | Philadelphia | A | 38.7% | 12.5 |
Indiana | Cleveland | A | 38.0% | 12.8 |
Orlando | Atlanta | H | 38.0% | 11.8 |
Sacramento | LA Lakers | H | 37.5% | 11.3 |

Charlotte | Minnesota | A | 34.2% | 11.5 |
Philadelphia | Utah | H | 33.8% | 10.9 |
The Minnesota Timberwolves draw the Charlotte Hornets, who allow a ton of three-pointers, and Minnesota is at home. The Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons also face some outlier defenses but are on the road.
Be mindful of the Philadelphia 76ers, Hornets, and a few others who face some teams good on the perimeter.
