One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.
Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.
Davion Mitchell, PG, Sacramento Kings ($4,600)
The Sacramento Kings have a few players out tonight, opening up a bit of value.
De'Aaron Fox is listed as doubtful tonight and Domantas Sabonis is listed as out, which changes up their starting rotation and offensive usage in a big way.
Davion Mitchell is set to be the starting point guard tonight, and when those players are off the court, Mitchell is producing 0.79 FanDuel points per minute with a 25.0% offensive usage rate. He should be able to put that on full display tonight versus the Indiana Pacers, who are allowing 49.15 FanDuel points per game to point guards, which is the third-worst in the league.
This matchup has a massive 235.0-point over/under and a 6.0-point spread, setting things up to be one of the best fantasy environments on the slate. All of this gives Mitchell a projection of 34.61 minutes and 30.1 FanDuel points, which makes him the fourth-best value option on the slate.
Tyus Jones, PG, Memphis Grizzlies ($4,300)
When Ja Morant is out for the Memphis Grizzlies, we turn to Tyus Jones as a value option.
That is the case tonight with Morant already ruled out, putting Jones in a spot to be a popular value play for the second straight game. Jones got the start the other night and posted 30.1 FanDuel points in 29 minutes. That shouldn't be too much of a surprise since Jones is posting 0.96 FanDuel points per minute when Morant is off the court this season. He should be able to replicate that level of production tonight given the fantastic game environment versus the Brooklyn Nets. This game has a big 237.5-point over/under and a 1.5-point spread.
We also see both teams in the top 11 for offensive pace, making this an explosive spot for fantasy production. Jones is projected for 29.29 minutes and 29.9 FanDuel points, putting him as the top overall value option on the entire slate.
Joshua Primo, SG, San Antonio Spurs ($3,500)
Joshua Primo has been in the starting lineup each of the past two games for the San Antonio Spurs and is still the minimum salary.
Seeing 30 minutes or more in each of the last two games is no joke for what is normally a bench player, especially when he is sitting at the minimum salary. Granted, Primo only posted 16.6 and 20.6 FanDuel points in those two games, but the matchup tonight versus the Portland Trail Blazers should allow him to reach for the upper end of his production.
This game has a 231.0-point over/under and a 9.0-point spread in favor of the Spurs, and both teams are in the bottom 10 for the most FanDuel points allowed per game to all positions combined. Two bad defenses and a high over/under is always a spot to look for potential fantasy production. Primo comes in projected for 29.17 minutes and 22.5 FanDuel points.
