In daily fantasy basketball, every edge matters.
One of the easiest ways to find an edge is to understand what happens to a team when injuries occur. Who stands to benefit? Who might struggle as a result? That's all vital information during the lineup-building process.
What should you know about tonight's slate of games? Let's break it down.
As always, you should make sure to double-check our NBA Player News page before finalizing your lineup.
The Definites
LeBron James is out for tonight's game to gain some rest heading into the playoffs. A lot of the Cavaliers will get a boost tonight, but more specifically, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love will see the biggest increase in value. Love sees a 21% increase in his Usage Rate comparing his playing time with and without James on the court. Irving goes from a 25.7% Usage Rate to an incredible 38.8% mark -- which is a 51% increase -- with James off the floor, per NBAWowy.com.
Irving will likely be owned by a lot of people tonight because James' absence was announced yesterday, but he is a hard player to fade on tonight's slate.
Ersan Ilyasova has been ruled out for the Magic. This news will continue to give extra minutes to Aaron Gordon because Illyasova has missed the last two games as well. Gordon's minutes have been fairly sporadic, but this should give him some consistent playing time tonight against the Nets.
Markieff Morris went through shootaround this morning and said that he will play tonight against the Warriors. Morris missed one full game but should be good to go tonight without any restrictions. This news will return Nene Hilario back to the bench.
Victor Oladipo is back from his two-game absence for Orlando. He has been one of the hottest players in the league prior to his brief injury. It looks like he shouldn't have any restrictions tonight, but playing someone just coming back from an injury always carries a little extra risk.
The To-Be-Determined List
Nerlens Noel and Jerami Grant are both questionable tonight. Noel hasn't played in a few games, and Grant left last game early in the first quarter. If they both sit out, Carl Landry becomes very interesting because he is so inexpensive. Robert Covington could also see extra playing time tonight as well, especially if Grant is sidelined.
