In daily fantasy basketball, every edge matters.
One of the easiest ways to find an edge is to understand what happens to a team when injuries occur. Who stands to benefit? Who might struggle as a result? That's all vital information during the lineup-building process.
What should you know about tonight's slate of games? Let's break it down.
As always, you should make sure to double-check our NBA Player News page before finalizing your lineup.
The Definites
Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan, and J.J. Redick are all sitting out of tonight's contest, which is, by far, the biggest news of the day. This will add a lot of value to Austin Rivers, Cole Aldrich, and Jamal Crawford. Our projections have Aldrich at must-play territory. He is just $3,500 and is projected for 36 fantasy points.
Brook Lopez is resting tonight. Brooklyn's coach, Tony Brown, said that he will continue to rotate the lineup for evaluation purposes. That isn't great news for daily fantasy players, though.
All three of Henry Sims, Willie Reed, and Thomas Robinson should see extra minutes tonight. Lopez didn't play the second half of the last game, and Sims saw most of those extra minutes. The whole situation isn't very clear.
Nikola Vucevic will return for the Magic tonight. He is expected to come off the bench tonight, but it is likely that they will ease him back into the action. He is obviously too expensive to trust tonight, but his return will diminish the role and value of Dewayne Dedmon and Jason Smith.
The To-Be-Determined List
Kyrie Irving missed the Cavaliers' shootaround with an illness. He is listed as questionable for tonight's game, and Cleveland may just use this opportunity to rest him for playoffs. If he sits, LeBron James will see a major uptick in value. His Usage Rate with Irving on the court is 28.1% compared to 35.4% with him off the court, per NBAWowy.com
