One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you'll need to find one of these lower-priced options to squeeze everyone into your lineup.
Let's take a look at three guys who can help fill the gaps in your lineup tonight. Of course, remember to check our projections closer to tip because so much can change in the NBA throughout the day.
Raymond Felton, PG, Dallas Mavericks
FanDuel Price: $4,800
My favorite part of suggesting Raymond Felton is that the Mavericks are still trying their hardest to win games for the playoffs. I know that may seem simple, but there aren't many teams that have anything to play for, which could impact a player's playing time. Dallas on the other hand, is still looking for a playoff bid and will be doing everything they can to get into the post season.
Felton's value will come to fruition if Jose Juan Barea does actually sit out of the game. Barea couldn't return last time out and remains questionable for Sunday's game. While Felton does have some standalone value, Barea missing time will increase his value immensely. Last time out, Barea left the game after logging just eight minutes of action. Felton took over the main duties of running the offense and scored 40 fantasy points over 36 minutes.
Evan Fournier, SF, Orlando Magic
FanDuel Price: $5,700
Evan Fournier should be in line for major playing time with Victor Oladipo already ruled out. Oladipo sat out last game as well and Fournier played 46 minutes and racked up 46 fantasy points. He also shot 12 times to go with 15 free throw attempts. We should expect similar results from Orlando today and Fournier will have a great opportunity again to perform well on his $5,700 price tag.
The Magic take on the Heat, which isn't the best match up, but if last game was a precursor at all for tonight, Fournier will play almost the entire game and he'll receive plenty of chances to produce fantasy stats.
Jusuf Nurkic, C, Denver Nuggets
FanDuel Price: $4,700
Jusuf Nurkic has been recovering from an illness but it appears that he is fully back and playing at his full potential for Denver. Last contest, Nurkic saw 35 minutes of playing time and tallied 39 fantasy points. He has been playing well on a per minutes basis all season, and he's now seeing the playing time to be very valuable in daily fantasy.
The Nuggets are now trying a unique lineup that consists of both Nurkic and Nikola Jokic, which worked out tremendously last game. They will continue to experiment with the lineups and both Nurkic and Jokic should spend plenty of time on the court together. At just $4,700, Nurkic won't need much to be a great value play for the day. If he receives close to the 35 minutes he saw last game, he shouldn't have any problems producing a solid performance today.
As always, make sure to watch for updates as the games get closer. This time of year, there are a lot of late scratches, as players are resting for the playoffs, which can drastically change the landscape of the value plays.
