Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Jimmy Butler is refusing to play in Wednesday's game against the Utah Jazz, reports Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
"It could lead to an extended absence," Krawczynski tweets. Butler was ruled out for Wednesday due to what was described as "general soreness," but the All-NBA player apparently intends to force his way out of Minnesota by refusing to play. Josh Okogie would likely take over in the starting lineup If Butler is dealt. After Halloween, The Timberwolves' next game is on Friday against the Golden State Warriors.
Butler is averaging 44.9 FanDuel points in six games this season. numberFire's models project him to average 23.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.4 3-pointers in 37.4 minutes per game over the rest of the season.
