Memphis Grizzlies center Jonas Valanciunas (thumb) will initially be held out of back-to-back sets, head coach J.B. Bickerstaff indicated on Monday.
"He hasn't played in a while, so we'll be conscious of that going into a back-to-back," said Bickerstaff of Valanciunas. "We want to get him on floor as quick as we can." Valanciunas has been medically cleared to return from a thumb injury that has sidelined him since December 12, so he should be able to make his Grizzlies debut on Tuesday versus the San Antonio Spurs.
JV averaged 25.1 FanDuel points in 30 games (10 starts) for the Toronto Raptors before being traded last week. numberFire's models expect him to record 16.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.6 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game over the remainder of the year.
