Detroit Pistons center Kelly Olynyk will miss time due to a knee injury, the team announced Thursday night.
Olynyk was listed out on the Friday injury report due to a knee injury, but at that time, the severity of the ailment was not quite known. It turns out, Olynyk suffered a grade-2 MCL sprain in his left knee. He's going to miss at least 6 weeks. The Pistons are an incredibly young team, and Olynyk was one of the few veteran mainstays in the rotation. Now, the majority of his minutes will likely be eaten up by rookie Luka Garza. Olynyk may not take the court again until the calendar flips to 2022.
In 10 games this season, Olynyk has averaged 12.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 27.1 FanDuel points.
