The Sacramento Kings are acquiring power forward Trey Lyles from the Detroit Pistons in a four-team trade.
The Kings traded away Marvin Bagley III in the deal, so Lyles might absorb some of that playing time (21.9 minutes per game), but he doesn't have a clear path to consistent minutes in Sacramento. His outlook would improve if Sacramento also ships off Harrison Barnes before the trade deadline. As of now, Lyles will be competing for minutes in a crowded frontcourt with Barnes, Chimezie Metu, Richaun Holmes, Moe Harkless, and Damian Jones.
numberFire's models project Lyles to average 15.2 minutes, 7.8 points, and 3.4 rebounds per game with the Kings over the rest of the season.
