The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to a trade that will send Davis Bertans and Cason Wallace to the Oklahoma City Thunder for the 12th overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft.
The Mavs effectively offloaded veteran Davis Bertans' contract at the cost of moving down two spots in the draft, giving up Cason Wallace (the 10th overall pick) in the move. They'll still have a selection near the top of the draft while picking from the 12th spot.
Bertans made 45 appearances for the Mavericks last season but only cracked the starting lineup once all year. The 30-year-old averaged 15.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per 36 minutes last season.
