San Antonio Spurs guard Devin Vassell (groin) is expected to be out for “a little while,” per head coach Gregg Popovich.
Vassell exited Thursday's game against the Phoenix Suns early due to left groin tightness. The Spurs will be able to provide a recovery timeline after Vassell undergoes an MRI. There will be extra playing time available for guys like Tre Jones, Malaki Branham, Devonte' Graham, and Doug McDermott while Vassell is sidelined.
Vassell is averaging 31.0 minutes and 28.8 FanDuel points per game this season, with 19.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2.2 3-pointers. He has a 64.4 true shooting percentage, up from a career-best 55.0 last season, so Vassell's scoring efficiency may regress a bit moving forward.
