Charlotte Hornets guard Kyle Lowry (trade pending) is not available for Wednesday's game against the Detroit Pistons.
Lowry, who was acquired from the Miami Heat in a trade on Tuesday, is not expected to play for the Hornets before the February 8 trade deadline. Hornets general manager Mitch Kupchak said the team wants to explore trade options for the 37-year-old veteran. Nick Smith, Ish Smith, and Bryce McGowens should handle most of the bench backcourt minutes for Charlotte.
Nick Smith has a $3,800 salary on Wednesday and is a potential value option, as numberFire's models project him for 19.4 FanDuel points over 24.1 minutes. Per our NBA Heat Map, the Hornets’ implied total (114.5) is No. 12 out of 16 active teams today.
