The Houston Rockets are acquiring center Steven Adams (knee) from the Memphis Grizzlies via trade, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Rockets are sending Victor Oladipo and a trio of second-round picks to the Grizzlies in compensation for Adams, who is still recovering from the season-ending surgery he underwent earlier this year. Adams is expected to be fully healthy for the 2024-25 season, but won't appear for the Rockets this year.
Adams, 30, will be under contract with the Rockets for the 2024-25 season, but we'll have to wait and see if the team has plans to utilize him in a year's time. On the flip side, Oladipo could play a significant role for the banged up Grizzlies over the remainder of the 2023-24 season, if he is able to return from his own knee injury.
