Los Angeles Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell had a “tune up procedure” on Tuesday and was unable to practice on Wednesday, per head coach Darvin Ham.
"We'll see," Ham replied when asked about Russell's availability for Thursday's game against the Denver Nuggets. It sounds like it was a minor procedure, but the Lakers are beginning a back-to-back on Thursday, so they might play it safe and hold Russell out. Austin Reaves and Max Christie would benefit in that scenario.
numberFire's models project Russell for 34.2 minutes and 34.6 FanDuel points on Thursday. He's averaging 39.3 FanDuel points in 13 games since returning to the starting lineup on January 13, compared to an average of 29.1 in all games before that. The Nuggets are allowing the fourth-fewest FanDuel points per game to point guards this season.
