The Toronto Raptors will release guard Spencer Dinwiddie, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.
The Raptors acquired guard Spencer Dinwiddie from the Brooklyn Nets for forward/center Thaddeus Young and guard Dennis Schroder on Thursday afternoon. However, they want to avoid paying a $1.5 million upcoming contract bonus for games played, so Dinwiddie will hit the open market. The 30-year-old guard is expected to attract multiple interested suitors.
Dinwiddie averaged 30.7 minutes and 27.2 FanDuel points in 48 games for the Nets this season, with 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.9 three-pointers.
