Milwaukee bucks forward/center Greg Monroe and point guard Michael Carter-Williams will move to the bench to start training camp, while forward/center Miles Plumlee and shooting guard Rashad Vaughn are expected to start for the Bucks this season.
This an unexpected development, even with all the trade talk surrounding Monroe. The Bucks clearly believe in Plumlee, putting their faith on display with a four-year, $52 million contract this summer. John Henson was also locked down for a long-term deal, so a trade would be necessary to avoid a logjam in the frontcourt in Milwaukee. Khris Middleton's (hamstring) injury could be playing a role in the thinking here. Monroe currently makes for a solid pick towards the end of the middle rounds in fantasy drafts.
Monroe averaged 15.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists with 0.8 blocks per game on a .522 effective field goal percentage this past season. He had a 5.5 nERD in 79 games (67 starts).
