Toronto Raptors forward/center Jared Sullinger will have a screw inserted into the fifth metatarsal of his left foot on Monday to alleviate symptomatic stress reactions, and he will be out indefinitely.
Sullinger was limited to just 58 games two seasons ago with the same injury, but he didn't opt for surgery that time. Now, he'll be sidelined for a good chunk of the year, pushing him off draft boards in standard leagues. Patrick Patterson and DeMarre Carroll both stand to benefit in Sullinger's absence, with the latter receiving the greater increase in value.
numberFire's models project Sullinger to average 9.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists on 43.8 percent shooting from the field in 25.5 minutes per game this season. This is based on a 72-game projection.
