Memphis Grizzlies guard Mike Conley suffered a transverse process fracture in his vertebrae on Monday night and is expected to miss the next 6-8 weeks of action.
The Grizzlies may legitimately be cursed with injuries. Conley will be re-evaluated in a month and we should have a clearer timetable on when he might be back after that. While Conley is on the shelf, Wade Baldwin and Andrew Harrison will have to pick up the slack.
Conley was off to a strong start after signing a record contract, averaging 19.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 2.5 three-pointers. He has a .530 effective field goal percentage and his nERD of 2.8 ranked 15th coming into Tuesday.
