Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant underwent an MRI on Wednesday and has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 MCL sprain and tibial bone bruise. He will be re-evaluated in four weeks, but for now is ruled out "indefinitely".
The Warriors will sign Matt Barnes to help fill the void, and Pat McCaw will also likely see increased minutes in Durant's absence, which will also open up plenty of usage for Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
Durant is averaging 25.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.6 blocks in 33.6 minutes per game this season. He leads the league with a 16.7 nERD.
