The Cleveland Cavaliers are trading point guard Isaiah Thomas, forward/center Channing Frye, and their 2018 first-round pick to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for guard Jordan Clarkson and power forward Larry Nance, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
This deal allows the Lakers to take it easy with Lonzo Ball's (knee) return but it puts a ceiling on Josh Hart's upside. Clarkson and Nance both figure to contribute off the Cavaliers' bench, possibly taking minutes away from the likes of J.R. Smith, Dwyane Wade, Kyle Korver, and Tristan Thompson. Nance's arrival could also cut into Kevin Love's workload. Per Woj, Cleveland's pick is protected.
IT averaged 22.0 FanDuel points in 15 games (14 starts) for the Cavaliers, with 14.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 0.6 steals, and 1.5 3-pointers per game.
